Do You Really Know Flanged Globe Valve?

The flanged globe valve has a reasonable structure, excellent performance, beautiful appearance, and a wide range of application pressures. It is mainly used to connect or cut off the medium in the pipeline. It has the advantages of wear resistance, high-temperature resistance, good scratch resistance, and long service life.


1.Structural features of flanged globe valve

Flanged globe valve has a compact structure, beautiful appearance, and excellent performance. The valve disc and the valve stem adopt an active connection structure, which is flexible to open and close. The valve stem is designed with an inverted sealing pair to improve the service life and sealing performance of the valve.

The sealing pair materials of the flange globe valve are reasonably matched, the friction between the valve disc and the valve seat is very small during operation, and the service life is long.

The surface of the valve stem of the flanged globe valve is nitridated, which has good corrosion resistance and friction resistance. The packing is made of tetrafluoroethylene, with reliable sealing, flexible operation, and small opening and closing torque.

2.The working principle of flanged globe valve

Flange globe valve is a forced-sealing valve, so when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the disc to force the sealing surface to not leak. When the medium enters valve six from below the disc, the resistance that the operating force needs to overcome is the friction force of the valve stem and packing and the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force to close the valve is greater than the force to open the valve, so the valve The diameter of the stem must be large, otherwise, the valve stem will bend up failure.


3.Selection design of flanged gate valve

The flanged gate valve is the most important regulating device for flow regulation of the heating system, and other regulating valves are auxiliary equipment, so a flange gate valve is necessary. A heating system cannot be called a heat metering and charging system without a temperature control valve. In the design of flange gate valves, the correct selection is very important. The purpose of flange gate valve selection is to determine the KV value (flow coefficient) according to the design flow rate (under known thermal load) and allowable resistance drop; then the KV value determines the diameter (model) of the temperature control valve. Therefore, the relationship between KV value and diameter must be given in the design atlas or manufacturer's sample, otherwise, it is not convenient for designers to use.

In the selection and design of flange gate valves, it is by no means a simple selection of flange gate valves with the same diameter as the pipeline. But in the selection process, create an ideal pressure difference working condition for the selected flange gate valve. The normal working pressure difference of a flange gate valve is between 2-3mH2O, and the maximum does not exceed 6-10mH2O. For this reason, the preset value range of the flange gate valve must be given to prevent noise from affecting the normal operation of the flange gate valve. When under the same KV value, there are more than two choices of caliber, the flange gate valve with a smaller caliber should be selected first, the purpose is to improve the regulating performance of the flange gate valve.
